As one of the 20th century’s most gifted artists, Jean Schlumberger is renowned for his incredible interpretations of the natural world. Born into a prominent family of textile merchants in Alsace, France, his self-taught early beginnings influenced some of his greatest creations. First created in 1956, the Fringe necklace is one of Schlumberger’s most celebrated designs. Woven in a lyrical manner, this necklace is composed of hand-twisted gold rope elements in varying lengths to create movement, with scintillating diamonds that flow effortlessly throughout the piece.
